The province is reviewing a proposal from the Cabot golf company to develop an 18-hole course within the boundaries of West Mabou Beach Provincial Park. Concerned citizens Kenneth MacKenzie and Nona MacDermid explain why this is so important.

"It's important that we can trust the people we push forward into that Legislature to represent our wishes. The Gaels are one group of people, but there are many groups of people here, who are well-known for their connection to the land, and to nature... That needs to be respected when people are looking at what is in the best interest of our community." - Nona MacDermid
"The land doesn't belong to one person, or to a conglomerate, or to anyone at all, we have a reciprocal relationship with the land and a duty to respect it and look after it for future generations." - Kenneth MacKenzie
