Community Rallies Again to Protect West Mabou Beach as new Golf Proposals Surfaces

MABOU: The fight to keep West Mabou Beach Provincial Park protected has reignited after provincial opposition parties and community members learned the Houston government may be reconsidering its stance on a proposed private golf course within the park.
On Oct. 4, members of the Save West Mabou Beach Provincial Park group led a community walk to show solidarity and raise awareness about what they call "another assault" on the park - a renewed push to open the protected land to development by Cabot Cape Breton.
"Every time we think the park is safe, another challenges arises," the group said.
