Poetry by Margaret MacDonell
The Inverness Oran - October 22, 2025
I'm a believer.
Lifelong,
What a gift,
To be blessed with things to believe in.
This belief has defined me,
It's where I've come from,
And where I am going.
Informed life choices
And provided meaning that guided the way.
Something to believe in,
A safe harbour.
A channel out of the rough seas.
As governments around the world
And here at home betray us,
Threaten destruction,
Desecration
Of things we hold sacred.
It's hard to keep the faith.
They can't take it from us
.
Keep the faith
We must
Use this conviction of belief.
Voices claimed.
Faith proclaimed.
