The province’s new Natural Resources minister has confirmed that Cabot Golf has come forth with a new proposal to build a new course on the grounds of West Mabou Beach Provincial Beach.

Details, however, have yet to be publicly revealed, said Kim Masland, adding she only entered the portfolio following Premier Tim Houston’s cabinet shuffle last week, and hasn’t had a chance to personally view the proposal.

... Word of Cabot’s third go-round at a West Mabou Beach course proposal first leaked earlier this month. A CBC report indicated that representatives from Cabot spoke with Tory Rushton, Masland’s predecessor in the Natural Resources portfolio, saying they were planning on coming to this province with what was said to be “some ideas.”

...The Post once again attempted to contact officials with the Ontario-based Cabot — including co-founder/chief executive Ben Cowan-Dewar, chief marketing officer Jules Cowan-Dewar and Jamie Trenholme, director of events, as well as MacDonald and MacQuarrie — for comment on Cabot’s latest proposal. Thus far, no responses have been returned.
